My wife Carol and I attended the Kansas house transportation committee hearing concerning house bill 2296, the handlebar height repeal of the existing state statute, scheduled for March 16th, 2006. Some of the background music of my youth was Pops' Marty Robbins collection which included the haunting ballad, Prairie Fire. It dramatically tells the story of cowboys and their herd racing a prairie fire, and losing. Never did I think I would reenact it. My experience wasn't half as dramatic, but it was enough to spark a musical flashback.
